We’ve lived in Utah most of our lives and have been in some amazing places in other countries, but I had no idea what was in our own backyard of Utah. We went out to the sand dunes with ATV & Jeep Adventure Tours and we were amazed! It was by far the highlight of our trip to St. George. The area is like a scene straight out of “The Martian”. It was so much fun to spend some time in a side-by-side ATV and see the beautiful country.
Fantastic tour, great guides, and just a TON of fun! I don't think I'd feel comfortable (or at least my wife wouldn't feel comfortable... ;) ) out there on our own without map/GPS - plus, with these guides, you get to see the best sites and run the best dunes!
GORGEOUS VIEWS! My husband and I took a 2-person, 3 hour tour and it was nothing short of amazing. 3 hours seemed to be the perfect amount of time. We had time to have a tone of fun, but it didn't seem too long. Our guides were knowledgeable on the environment around us and knew how to have fun! We live on the East Coast so we won't have many opportunities to go back, but if we end up in Utah again, we will definitely be doing this again.
Loved it! Definitely recommend. We did the 3-hour tour on a beautiful October morning. Most of the tour is a rip-roaring good time riding through a state park/public riding lands. The ride is punctuated with a few short stops where the guide shares a few tidbits about local wildlife, plants and geology. When booking through the website, be aware that taxes & fees will add about 14% to the advertised price; these are clearly marked after you add the tour to your cart.
My 16-yr old son and I had an awesome time. Cary was our guide and he was very thoughtful, informative, and lead us on some thrilling rides in the dunes for us first-timers on ATVs. Everything from booking to starting off on our ride to the finish was perfect. When we signed-up, we booked a full-day sunset tour, which was customized for us and not on the menu list online. That was great of them to do that for us. Riding ATVs is fun, safe and exciting. And the choice to do it at Sand Hollow instead of Zion was a good one. Because you're really riding out there in the dunes. I think Zion is more of a sight-seeing trip. Cary also took us to spectacular views at Sand Hollow and the Jurassic Park area is really cool. I highly recommend the sunset tour because the weather cools down toward the end and you don't get sunlight washout from high noon time, but rather you get the cool colors and contours of the end-of-day sun, which make riding enjoyable. The hardest thing about ATVs is using your right thumb constantly for acceleration. But, once you get used to it and figure out different angles to hold your thumb to maintain and adjust speed, then you're good to go! The other thing to remember is: if you're coming from Las Vegas, there's a 1-hour time difference between Utah time and Vegas, so leave 1-hour EARLY to make it on time! I highly recommend ATV & Jeep Adventures as a family-owned business that really knows what they're doing. We'll be ATV-ing again!
