We started to enroll our son here, but wanted him tested in a higher grade level, because he was already enrolled in advanced classes at a school in Salt Lake City for several years. The staff didn't listen to our needs and felt they knew best about our sons needs, without even meeting him. After pressuring the principal to have him tested, they finally agreed to have him tested at the next highest grade level for his age. We took him in for the placement testing and they only had him read a few sentences from the end of a workbook and didn't even test his math skills or writing skills. How can you make a decision about student placement based on a his ability to read a few sentences??

We ended up taking our son to Valor Hall a few miles away, where they listened to our needs and promptly tested his reading, writing, and math skills, without giving us their opinion of what grade level he should be in for his age. He tested a little lower in math, which was expected, but his reading and writing skills were above the level expected for his age. So they went ahead and placed in a higher grade level for reading and writing, while he went to a lower grade level to catch up on his math skills.
Best place in town to get an elementary education!
They put much emphasis on being a great leader and an equally excellent person with good moral. Great school!
What a great school. We came from another school, and my son was significantly behind. I addressed my concerns to the principal, and he placed him in a class with the exact teacher that met his needs. He is not at grade level, and learned to read (from knowing no letters at all, to now being on grade level).
